An Introductory Alchemy Workshop

An Introductory Alchemy Workshop
With Practicing Alchemist Kevin Townley
Saturday, May 2, 10-5 p.m
Kalliopeia Foundation, San Rafael, California

This one-day workshop will examine the philosophy and practice of the alchemists. Participants will explore how all things in existence participate in three fundamental alchemical principles: Mercury, Sulfur, and Salt. These names represent a symbolic language that represents form, quality, and life -- principles that all known things possess.

The workshop will investigate these principles and how they manifest in the four kingdoms of nature, mineral, vegetable, animal, and human. Also, a further examination of the cycles of time will be explored and how knowledge of these cycles can lead to a deeper understanding of the world we live in.

This program will be all-day, from 10 – 5 p.m., with a two-hour break for lunch. Participants are responsible for their own lunch, and there are a variety of good restaurants in San Rafael to choose from.

There is room for 25 participants in this workshop. Tuition for the day is $50 and because of limited space it is recommended that all those interested sign up by Friday, April 24th. Participation is on a first come, first serve basis.

This event follows The Alchemical World View, a free, introductory event on the evening of May 1st; space is limited, so please register by Friday, April 24th if you plan to attend.

Kevin Townley is co-founder of the Hermetic school, The Philosophers of Nature, which has a seven-level curriculum in laboratory alchemy and Qabalah. Kevin has worked full-time in an alchemy laboratory and conducts workshops on Qabalah, Spagyrics, Alchemy and Tarot in the US and Europe. He has been a faculty member at institutions such as The Colorado Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Boulder College, and Naropa University.
