Revelation, Dreams, and Prophecy: A Workshop with Lee Irwin

Revelation, Dreams, and Prophecy
A Workshop with Lee Irwin
Saturday, April 11, 2009, 2-5 p.m.
Abode of the Message, New Lebanon, New York

In contemporary spirituality, the themes of prophecy and revelation are in the process of being reconstructed in a more personal, less collective sense. In the past, prophecy was strongly associated with new religious traditions or a call for a renewal of those traditions. In the present, prophecy has become linked to personal intuitions and the extensive literature on "big dreams" that shape a person's life.

This workshop will explore the themes of revelation and prophecy in a direct personal sense, how revelation can work through dreams to shape personal destiny and suggest pathways for human development. Further, we will look at prophecy as multivocal and part of the process of holding new, shared visions of human development sensitive to ecological balance, the alchemy of soul development, and a deepening of mystical awareness.

Participants are invited to bring a "prophetic dream" (image or theme) to the workshop for possible discussion, as well as art or visual images, or drawing materials, to invoke imaginal symbolism related to revelatory dreaming.

This event is followed by an optional dinner.
